About Us

Norge Eik was founded in December 2022 by Norge Wang

A middle age entrepreneur from Shenzhen, China. Like many others, I am a father, husband, and son. After graduating from university, I worked for a French sporting goods company for over 10 years. Feeling bored, I decided to resign the job. After a few years of taking a gap year, I believe I have finally found what I am most passionate about at a relatively late stage in life - Designing and Developing sports products. Ironically, this is the field I have been working on since graduating from university.

Another source of motivation comes from my 12-year-old daughter, who is very passionate about ice hockey. Despite living in Shenzhen, a seemingly ice hockey-culture-less desert, she has been dedicated to the sport for six years. I feel ashamed that, despite accompanying her to games for so many years, I have never developed any ice hockey equipment or protective gear. I hope to personally contribute to this exciting and joyful sport in some way.

The disadvantage of developing products on my own, as opposed to working in a large company, is that I miss out on opportunities for more extensive collaboration and lose all previous supplier resources. Development costs must also be carefully optimized. However, the advantage is that I can develop products entirely according to my preferences. Sales volume is not my primary concern; I hope to do my best to bring my ideas to life within my limited capabilities. Even though some ideas may seem foolish and even make me laugh, you never know the answer until you try.

So far, this has been my personal journey. I enjoy every aspect of the product development process. Of course, it has not been without challenges. In fact, I experienced failure with the first project – a knee brace that resulted in a loss of $30,000. Knee brace is a product with a very low technical threshold, making it challenging to achieve innovation in materials or structure.

The second and third projects are FLEXBAND and STEELREBOUND, one for ice hockey and the other for soccer training equipment. Both products have a degree of originality, defined by combining different materials or structures. The fourth project should be an ice hockey rebounder. Many other projects are still in progress. These projects may not be related to the same sport or category, but all of them are sports-related, original, and most importantly, something I am passionate about.

Imitating and copying other people's products won't bring me any joy. I hope that each product I develop has its own imprint, and I aspire for my products to bring more joy to people during their athletic endeavors.

The reason for choosing the North American market for sales is because competitive sports are a fundamental part of Western culture. It might not be mainstream for an Eastern individual to engage in sports product development. I am well aware of the cultural, economic, and political conflicts between China and the West. I also understand that "Made in China" is not well-received by many Americans. However, I am not going to hide my identity. I simply hope, through my personal efforts, to design and manufacture valuable products.

Regardless of good or bad, success or failure, this is my personal journey.
